MISSION
STATEMENT
- To provide services of the highest
quality for American Samoa Government in an efficient and effective
manner.
- To oversee the procurement of all
construction, goods, and services needed by the American Samoa
Government.
- To provide supervision of the
procurement, management, warehousing, control, logistics, and
acquisition of goods required by ASG.
- To establish and maintain programs for
the inspection, testing, and acceptance of construction, goods, and
services.
The American Samoa Procurement Act of
1983 established the Office of Procurement, an entity of the Executive
Branch which is located in the village of Tafuna. Formerly called
the Office of Material Management, the Office of Procurement and the
Chief Procurement Officer who serve as its director are responsible for
centralized procurement for the entire American Samoa Government which
entails the purchasing of all goods, contractual services, construction
services, logistics, and warehousing of goods.
The office is comprised of three main divisions: Purchasing,
Contracts, and Stores/Inventory with three branches which are:
Warehousing, Shipping & Receiving, and Federal Surplus,
respectively. |
